I graduated from medical school in 2004 and have dual training in General Internal Medicine and General Practice. I initially trained in General Medicine in South East London before moving to Newcastle in 2014 to complete my GP training. My special interests include Diabetes, Cardiology, Hypertension, Heart Failure, Ischaemic Heart Disease, and Chronic Disease management. Alongside my clinical work, I am passionate about medical education. As a GP trainer, foundation doctor trainer, and mentor to Newcastle Medical School students, I am dedicated to supporting the next generation of doctors. I am available for consultations on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I deeply value building long-term relationships with my patients and take great satisfaction in providing continuity of care. I’m involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice with specific responsibility for all financial and business matters. I ensure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care and human resources. I work closely with GP partners and other health care professionals to deliver patient services and also help to develop extended services to enhance patient care. Before joining the practice in 2005 I worked at Halifax and Bank of Scotland.

Social prescribing is about helping people with non-medical needs and giving practical and emotional support. As the name suggests, I help ‘link’ people to local community services and organisations. I meet with people to discuss the issues they’re facing, and what they would like to be doing, and together we set an achievable plan. We’ll then catch up regularly to see how things are progressing. This means people feel supported through the process, and I can offer advice and encouragement along the way.
