SHIELDING PATIENTS

The practice is here to support you through the current pandemic that is affecting so many of us.

We understand that you may be more anxious if you have to attend the surgery if you have had a shielding letter or are in the vulnerable category as defined by the Government.  We would like to reassure you that your safety is paramount to us.  Please do not delay seeking help for medical problems because you are worried about attending the surgery.  If you have a medical problem please contact the surgery on 01912655755.  A GP will phone you back and if appropriate arrange for you to be seen at a time and place that is safe for you.  Please be assured if you have to attend the surgery, we have social distancing measures in place and all face to face contacts with health professionals are undertaken with staff wearing personal protective equipment for your safety.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

**Flu Season 2020**

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

ELECTRONIC PRESCRIPTIONS

More and more of our prescriptions are being sent electronically to a chemist of our patient’s choice.

Not only does this save the NHS money, it is more secure and faster than the paper prescription being collected by the patient or their nominated chemist.

In 2020 it is expected that over 95% of prescriptions will be delivered electronically.

Read more about EPS on the NHS website.
